The S&S® TC3 oil pump and cam support plate are highly recommended for any cam installation, but they are a must if your engine has suffered even a minor problem that created metallic particles or debris. It's pretty easy to see if your oil pump has been chewed up by junk going through it, but it's pretty hard to know if there's still some of that stuff hiding in the oil passages of your cam support plate! Great plate and oil pump
I installed the S&S oil pump and cam plate after running a Feuling setup for the last 8 years. The Feuling parts worked great but the lifters would tick upon startup briefly when the engine was very hot. That problem disappeared when I installed the S&S setup. I was told by an S&S tech that with their setup, they have higher oil flow, not pressure. With the S&S setup I get 20-28 oil pressure at idle and 34-38 running. The variation is for cold to hot. With the Feuling setup the gauge was reading 10-20 at idle and 38-42 running. No other changes were made, just the oil pump and plate. I bought the setup after watching a glowing review on Kevin Baxter's YouTube channel.

Runs smooth and reliable
Stock rear inner bearing has been torn apart completely, leaded to total fracture of oil pump at 47,000 miles. After replacing the oil pump and cam chest plate with this kit, oil pump noise gone, the bike even feels smoother then it was new one.

Again I should've went w/S&S to start with! Two Screamin' Eagle oil pumps went bad. Sticking with what is best & made in the U.S.

Decided to run this kit after a major Screamin' Eagle malfunction. Should've went this route to begin with. No regrets. Don't cut corners when it comes to performance. Stay w/ S&S!
