Start Any Engine!

Regardless of displacement or compression ratio with a stock starter, Easy Start Cams from S&S® Cycle make hard starting obsolete for 1999-16 big twins. Available in chain drive and gear drive versions. Don't get caught "dead" without them! More Proven Performance® from S&S Cycle, Inc., the leader in V-Twin high performance parts since 1958.

  • Start any engine with a stock starter
  • Save your starter and battery!
  • Reliable – tested for 10,000 starts and didn't even run the battery down!
  • Automatic – no buttons to push

Cams that exceed the limits of the stock valve springs require the use of special high lift springs. Most S&S cams have higher lift than stock and are designed to take advantage of the extra flow of ported stock heads or S&S Super Stock® heads. Due to the high lift of these cams, S&S adjustable pushrods are recommended. Not all grinds are available in the chain drive version. To get the best performance from a performance cam installation, a high flow intake and exhaust system is also recommended.

Quick installation and Easy Start® Cams allow stock starter to start any engine.

Kit contains cams, gearcover gasket, cam bearings, and instructions.

    Awesome upgrade

Posted by Unknown on Sep 21st 2021

Recently installed easy start 583 cams on my 2015 fatboy. The power has noticeably increased even on 6 gear with a twist of throttle. as they mentioned the power has increased on the entire powerband. Initially fuel consumption has increased, but after few thousand kilometres it’s decreased. The sound also has been changed Highly recommended product. https://youtu.be/HDalhyGW0bQ

    MR103 Installed 2004 FLHTCSE CVO

Posted by Unknown on May 26th 2021

Changed from S&S 510 gear drive to MR103 chain drive., Feuling oil pump. etc. I was facing a tolerance issue with the motor loosening up after 80,000 miles, gear drive is not kind when tolerances widen due to wear. More power on upper end is perfect for my riding, 2 up, cruise 80-85...still more muscle there! I have additional intake, exhaust..D&D Fat Cats, tuner mods and the original Screaming Eagle build. Good choice without gettin' crazy as I need a reliable ride.

    Completely different bike.

After tons of research and reading dyno sheets I decided on the easy start 585 cams for my 2014 Street Glide. Also went with the oil pump, cam plate, pushrods, tappets, and chain tensioners. Now I can't keep myself off the throttle. Got it tuned and once it hits 3,000 rpms it doesn't stop pulling in any gear. Completely changed my riding experience for the better. Like to give S&S props on the detailed videos on YouTube and their prompt responses on a few questions I had. Excellent customer service. If you are mechanically inclined this was not a hard install at all. Good rainy day project. Now on to the big bore project!

640 EZ start cams in 2012 CVO Street Glide w/S&S 124" kit

Posted by Unknown on Apr 10th 2018

I replaced a set of cams that did not have as much lift and duration as these do. I really liked the other cams but did not like the hot restart issues I was having. These cams provide easy starting with a stock starter for my 124" 10.8:1 compression motor just as advertised. As far as power and torque I haven't fully explored the limits of these cams but I'm sure they will perform as advertised also. The other performance updates to my engine are: 66mm throttle hog, Dragos 2 into 1 Dragula exhaust, roller rockers, K&N air filter and a Power Vision tuner.
