    Best Torqued Power Combo

Posted by Unknown on Mar 5th 2023

I have installed these chain drive 583 cams on my FatBoy 2016 (Odo meter reading:104000KM). My Boy configuration is SE Exhaust+ SE Conical High Flow intake+ SE Lifters+ VnH FP3(VnH twin slash quite baffle map along with 583 cam selection) + S&S 583 chain drive standard cam). I would say this is the best budget engine upgrade. Bike is like "scalded dog". I love it. there is no mileage impact, I am getting 20KMPL on 110KMPH speed. 90HP, 1100NM torque on the stock engine. I would highly recommend it.

    Pulls and pulls!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Unknown on Dec 27th 2019

09' Fatboy 96ci with AN Intake and Rinehart slipons using V&H Fuelpac3. 20,000 miles. Installed this cam using S&S solid pushrods and Fueling lifters along with Fueling cam chain tensioner shoes. Install was not difficult at all. This was my first Harley cam install. After completed install, engine fired right up. Engine now has a really nice "lope" at idle now, sounds fantastic! Exhaust has a louder sound as well with these cams. From idle to 4000 rpm (purely a guess I have no tach) the engine pulls HARD and never fell off. Did a test ride of 40 miles and could not stop smiling. Took an on ramp to interstate running 35 mph in second gear, rolled on the throttle through 4th gear till I hit the 4 lane, looked down and was doing 90 mph! I could never do that with the stock cam. Cruising along at 70 mph in 6th gear I can roll on the throttle and pass cars with ease. The stock cam made 6th gear almost unusable for passing. The bike is soo much more fun to ride now. If your undecided on a cam, give serious consideration to the S&S 551. Also wanted to add. After install and test ride I called Vance and Hines for a new map for the FP3. They have this cam in one of their maps now and after about 5 minutes they had it installed onto my FP3. This map made a nice improvement. Perfect! Life is good with S&S. Their customer support was fantastic when I called looking for the right cam for me. I honestly believe they would stay on the phone for as long as it takes to get you headed in the right direction.

    MR103 in 110

Posted by Unknown on Oct 8th 2019

I have the MR103 cam in my recent twin cam build. I have the S&S 110 cylinders w/pistons, and screaming eagle 110 heads. This bike runs awesome, comes on strong about 2900 rpm’s and pulls hard to 6400 rpm’s.

    583C in a 2012 FXDWG with a 103

Posted by Unknown on Jul 6th 2018

Outstanding! 2012 FXDWG V&H Big Radius pipes, Screaming Eagle breather, FP3 tuner. Take the time to tune it or have someone tune it before judging this cam. She flat moves now. Pulls strong from an idle and pulls just as hard at 4700 at 70 MPH when passing. I commute, some in town riding and some road trips. I also ride it like I stole it most of the time. Reworked forks and springs, better shocks. Now the power and handling is much more enjoyable with way less shifting and plenty of torque. Don't make the mistake of over camming your bike. Put the power where you use it. For me that's around 1700-3200 RPMS most of the time but as advertised it will pull all the way to to at least 5000 RPM. My limiter is set at 6200 I think but I have no need for that many R's.

    Excellent Cams

Posted by Unknown on Apr 29th 2018

Had the S&S .585 cams installed in my 2016 Road King to go along with other aftermarket installs. Arlen Ness stage 2 big sucker, Bassani down under true dual head pipes w/DNT's, Power Commander V tuner, dual piston cam chain tensioners, and S&S quickee install pushrods. Work done by Sangers Cycle in Ft. Collins. They're awesome and the only ones I let touch my bike for work, ever!! The cams are exactly what I had in mind! They do not give the idle a slow lope or anything, but I have to say when you hit the throttle, you are gong to leave the line, quickly. The top-end for the rpm's has changed drastically, not to mention the hp and torque. There is not a need to gear down for passing, unless you really have to. Was told the cams really come on around 3k and above, but I feel them hitting before that and the response is excellent. I feel these are a solid cam, a great improvement to the performance to my Harley, well worth the money, which I also feel was an excellent price-range for the type of quality you receive S&S products installed. These cams (depending) on your riding style, come on strong, and stay with you well beyond any speed limit sign you'll pass. If you have any doubts, let them go, and get these cams installed, you won't regret it. They are performing great with the stock springs, tappets and heads too. I ride hard, year round, as aggressively I can get away with from start to stop. Very very pleased!!

    Noticeable power increase!

Posted by Unknown on Feb 28th 2018

Installed .583 lift chain drive cams on my 2013 FLSTC, I 00was already running V&H big radius, V&H fuel pak, HD screaming eagle high flow air filter. The install of the cams produced a very noticeable power increase, I did not run it on a dyno, my butt says more power! Very impressed, worth every penny.

    Tire shredding torque

Posted by Unknown on Sep 2nd 2017

Installed on my 2015 Softail Slim with V&h Big Radius, BCT and stg1, pulled 89hp and 103 on first run. Retuned after install and 99hp 123fp, and talk about throttle response. She has a nice idle lope now and she gets up and goes. The price point for American craftsmanship and performance is amazing.

    Perfect For Two Up Touring

Posted by Unknown on Jun 20th 2017

I have 551C cams, SPO mufflers, Power Tune Dual header and the Stealth Air Filter installed in my 2013 Ultra Limited. The 551 cam increases the torque right where I need it when riding two up and and really shines in the hills and mountains. I can now climb long, steep twisting roads in 4th gear at 2,300 rpm's with ease. My stock cam required 3rd gear at 3,300 / 3,500 rpm's and would struggle to climb if a twist in the road caused any drop in rpm. I highly recommend this cam if you spend the majority of your time in the 2,000 to 3,000 range.

    S&S 510 chain drive cams

Posted by Unknown on Apr 26th 2017

Installed them into my 2003 Road King Classic. They do what they say. They come on around 3000 rpm and keep pulling all the way up. Great for passing cars in high gear without down shifting.
